We take all illnesses and injuries very seriously at Strathmoor Pediatrics. We give priority to the acutely injured. Patients will undergo triage when they enter the office and are then told if they will have to wait for their scheduled appointment or will need to be treated immediately. We ask that you call ahead and do not merely walk-in as this disrupts those patients who already have an appointment. If your child’s illness or injury is not deemed emergent, your child may be asked to wait for quite some time.
If your child has a possibly contagious rash, please let the staff know immediately. If your child is wheezing or in respiratory distress, also let us know immediately. Bleeding, vomiting, explosive diarrhea , and fever > 104 are all conditions that may necessitate a more urgent visit – please do not sit in the waiting room with these conditions without first informing staff.
We know that other physicians, emergency departments, and urgent care centers may have asked use to alternate Tylenol and Motrin when your child is febrile. We ask that you DO NOT alternate these medications. This may be an unsafe and unecessary practice. See AAP advice.
